What has caught the ear of the Texperts this week?
We at Texpert Towers have musical tastes as wide as they are eclectic. So what has got the groove of Texperts? What tunes are stimulating our brains and firing our imaginations?
- Battles- Tonto (well, Paul and Thom like it. The rest of the office are less warm to bands that sound like Aphex Twin covering Adam and the Ants)
- Led Zeppelin- Achilles Last Stand (Darren has been air drumming along all week)
- Sage Francis feat. Will Oldham- Sealion (Will Oldham turning his hand to Hip Hop… Eric likes!)
- Lykke Li- Little Bit (single) (It’s electro-pop like only Scandinavians can do it)
- Explosions in the Sky- The Birth and Death of the Day (’Tis a goodly noise)
- Aidan Moffat- I Can Hear Your Heart (Album) (The filthiest album ever recorded? But nobody can write lyrics like Aidan)
- Manic Street Preachers- Roses In The Hospital (We do like a bit of the Manics. And Rhod is feeling especially patriotic after Wales winning in Rugby and Football!)
- Dr Dre- The Chronic (Rhod and Eric have been going Old Skool)
- The Ramones- Pet Sematary (What better way to start the day than with The Ramones?)
- An April March- Chick Habit (The tune over the End Credits of Quentin Tarantino’s “Death Proof”. Can anyone do a Soundtrack like Tarantino?)
- Cat Power- Jukebox (Album) (Thom is in love with Chan Marshall)
- Supergrass- Diamond Hoo Ha Man (single) (very glam, and very good)

Eh, not even a single Kylie Monogue ditty. I feel hurt, in a strange way.

Does the Flaming Lips covering Kylie count? ‘Cos we’re all over that…

Looks like a good list, esp the Dre and snoop track you’ve got listed.. classic.
Speaking of which, I run a hip hop and UK grime music blog which will be of interest to those in the know or if you’re interested in these genres, the latter of which is in it’s infant stages and is generating a global following, even from our US neighbours.
http://blatentlyblunt.blogspot.com is the place to check for the latest tracks, videos and news bites which have been hand selected by yours truly. Give it a look, and if you like what you see, come back tomorrow and see whats new!
Once again, that’s
