Cycling to work with the Texperts!
We here at Texperts are very conscious of the environment (and very tight). So we have embraced the Cycle To Work scheme with wanton abandon!
First in was Fred, with a really nice Kalahari bike. Much better than his Cambridge-styleee bike, he can now save even more effort on his very short route to work.
I decided to up the ante, and as my time is split between Cambridge and London, invested in a 2-city solution - the fold-up bike. I went for the Dahon Jetstream - a superb looking machine which scores highly on the ride-ability front but not-so-high on the folding stakes. It does fold, but not in the neatest way. Still, I am delighted by the machine.
I polarised opinion with this little wonder, Giles declaring he would never be seen riding a fold-up bike (and questioning my manhood). Others could see sense. Indeed, we are a competitive bunch in the office, so Thomas decided to go one better.
As his cycle ride is shorter, he wanted a good folding bike and lightweight, but not so much focus on rideability. Thus he invested in a Sinclair-designed A-Bike. Check out the snap below.
Riding this thing is hilarious. The wheels are the size of a supermarket trolley wheels. You feel you are going to fall off at any moment.
I confidently think that I chose the winning option here! I’ll update you as more of the team get involved in the biking bonanza!
